A rare opportunity for a double-header during the season this weekend, as Miss and I went to Hemel Hempstead Town via Staines (as you do…)

Our first visit of the day was to Staines, to watch Brentford ‘B’ v AFC Bournemouth U21s (sadly there were no tickets left for the main event just down the road).

Brentford B play at Wheatsheaf Park, former home of Staines Town before they went bust.

The facilities are great, Brentford have clearly invested a lot of money into them. Not enough investment for baby changing facilities though… anyway, the game was oddly ‘all ticket’, luckily the very helpful stewards helped

us to get in!

There was a great burger van - Miss had her own burger which she thoroughly enjoyed! Thanks Uncle Mike! 🍔

Cherries lost the game 2-1 (the first team also lost 3-2!). A quick bum change before we journeyed to the next ground, on the floor in the disabled toilet. We then walked back to the car park which was parked on a neighbouring street (stewards preventing parking at the ground - as it is also a Health Club).

A very tidy ground, nice facilities, just a shame that there’s no baby changing facilities, but that doesn’t come as a surprise to us anymore.

Queue the football cliche - ‘on to the next one’ and a trip around the M25 to Hemel Hempstead.

Another first ground for Miss and I and Uncle Mike! A car park at the ground but it was on street parking for when we got there. But there were lots of neighbouring streets so no problem there!

£15 entry but Miss was free 🤷‍♂️ (and would be until she is 10). Nice ground, four stands, three seated and one decent sized terrace. Good spacious toilets but again no baby changing facilities. There were several food outlets, both well priced and with decent looking menus!

We enjoyed some cups of tea - Miss couldn’t resist taking them for herself 🫖 so we got her own in her juice bottle - she preferred the cups though 😂

A decent crowd of over 700 saw Hampton & Richmond come away with a 4-0 win, on another day it could have been even more!

Miss enjoyed roaming around, playing with the seats and steps and she even managed to play with her ball and find a Goal 🥅 which she enjoyed shouting about 🥳⚽️

A clear journey home in just over an hour to end an enjoyable day with two games, in two new grounds and Miss enjoyed her two cups of tea ☕️

82 games now completed for our flourishing two-year-old and a trip back to the Vitality Stadium tomorrow 🍒
