It was a trip to Evesham this week, a second visit for me and a first visit for Miss.
The drive to Evesham was an entertaining one - for those fellow This Country fans, it’s great to see the place names “South Cerney, Cerney Wick…” places where Kerry has enemies (if you know, you know).
I got excited driving past Rob Robinson’s Garage, just outside Northleach. Northleach is the village where This Country is set, 10 miles north of Cirencester.
Plenty of sheep, pheasants and cows on the journey for Miss to get excited about! Sparking sing songs of Old MacDonald and Bah Bah Black Sheep 🐑
We stopped at the services outside Cirencester for Greggs - Miss was delighted when she saw the Greggs logo on the window. I’d already distracted her McDonalds earlier that day (she knows where both our nearest McDonalds and Costa are now!)

Plenty of parking at Evesham! Helpful stewards told us where to park and then we walked back round to the turnstiles. Miss pushed her way through the turnstiles and in we went. We paid at the gate, got given a ticket, went in and then the ticket was scanned once inside, a bit bizarre as we were already in 🤷♂️
Anyway, the clubhouse at Evesham is decent and even better… 🧷 looks home made but a baby changing facility is always much appreciated by us!

Evesham have McDonalds as a key sponsor, Miss noticed that! “EIEIO”

There is a nice club shop in a container at Evesham, bargain 10p for a lollipop 🍭 Miss was thrilled!
There is a decent seated stand on one side at Evesham, an open ‘terrace’ behind one end (scaffolding really) and a roofed terrace at the other end scaffolding benches nailed to the floor, a new addition since my last visit. That said, the low roof generates a decent atmosphere.

What I would say, whilst it’s great that there are so many youngsters at Evesham, distinct lack of parents and some slightly unruly behaviour which was a shame to see 👀
As for the game, a goal direct from a corner! An unusual occurrence. Evesham looked excellent going forward and caused problems throughout and on another day could have scored 10!
Tiverton have ex-Exeter stalwart, Dean Moxey, amongst their ranks. He unfortunately picked-up a nasty looking injury.
It’s good to see the Tiverton players come over and thank the fans personally at full-time, love to see such good bonds between players and supporters. A lot of football to be played this season yet but a lot of work to do for Asa Hall at Tiverton.
