So she did it! Aged 2 Years, 4 Months, 2 Weeks and 5 Days, Miss has now clocked up 100 football matches 👏 In doing so, she has visited 49 different grounds.

So across the 2023-23, 23-24 and 24-25 seasons, 100 matches may not sound like a lot to avid Groundhoppers or those bloggers or vloggers that go somewhere different 2/3 times a week.

BUT, remember a certain two-year-old is in bed for midweek games! So this is weekends only apart from some Summer evenings when we popped down to Wide Lane, Oakwood Park (when Colden Common were playing there before they started ground sharing with WCFC) and over to Liss Athletic plus a cheeky Tuesday night 1-1 draw between Winchester City and Poole Town on October 8th 2024.

The century has included seeing Uncle Davo playing for Ropley Vets, a pre-season double-header of Totton & Eling and then Bashley, watching Women’s football at Moneyfields new ground, a Boxing Day at Salisbury and an eight-goal thriller at Hanwell Town.

We’ve watched clubs that have folded (Winchester Castle), we’ve been out in biblical storms (Hayes & Yeading) and heat waves (Sholing U18s).

Thank-you to all 49 different venues that have made us feel welcome. If we haven’t been to you yet, we’re trying! As long as you’ve got baby changing facilities, parking, safe areas to roam… then we’re happy!

We’ve ventured down to Tavistock twice, Tiverton, Bitton AFC and Gloucester City. Heading east we’ve popped in to see Hemel Hempstead Town, Chertsey Town, Marlow and Hendon, whilst also enjoying trips to places such as Melksham, Harrow Borough and Walton & Hersham.

As for #100, it was Selsey in West Sussex for us. The weather was beautiful, just very windy! So we had a morning at the beach and the park before heading to the ground.

The cluster of parks was mega excited for Miss, and we also managed to share a chip butty without getting attacked by seagulls 🥳

The ground is tucked back behind Co-Op just off the High Street. A nice little ground although the pitch was very bobbly. A small car park outside the ground plus Co-Op car park too!

There was a nice stand along the far side by the benches and a decent sized clubhouse too!

The game itself… well Winchester City Flyers got the job done, winning 2-0. We enjoyed playing though and enjoyed the glorious sunshine!

A lovely day out at the seaside and park, and we managed to get to the magic 100! Where to for

#101? Miss said she wants to see Nanna & Grandad so it may be heading West next weekend 👀
