Plenty at Potterne

So this time around, we technically didn’t have the time to do a game due to a family BBQ, but we made time, to squeeze in a fifth pre-season friendly and another new ground for Miss.

I can’t track it on the App we use (Futbology). Other Apps are also available 😂 as Miss’ log-in is on my broken work phone 🤦‍♂️ however, Potterne Park was definitely a new ground for her and only a 2nd visit for me in fairness.

It was another warm one and there was lots going on at Potterne Park. The parking spaces were all busy but we found somewhere to squeeze the car in and went for a walk. There was a cricket match taking place by the car, and as we walked towards Verwood Town FC, we passed tennis courts and a really large changing room block (which featured baby changing facilities 🥳).

We got to the ground and although you can see into the ground from outside, it is fenced off. There is a turnstile on the corner and then you find the stand and dugouts all on one side.

Getting into the ground was a challenge for us, purely down to the fact there was a large, well-equipped park by the ground, so getting Miss away from the park was tough going.

We did play football with her Paw Patrol football, however, which kept her amused!

As for the game, it was a second match in 24 hours for New Milton, and unfortunately for them, a second defeat. However, the trialist family were well represented once again (8 trialists on show this time for New Milton). Verwood Town looked decent and won the game 3-1.

We will definitely be back to Potterne Park, with so much going on, it is almost a day out for Miss and I, so we will make sure Verwood are on our ‘must see’ list for this season. As for New Milton, we will definitely go and see Mr Maybury again soon, being mates with the Gaffer does naturally give New Milton some biase, but they have built a decent squad that should turn a few heads in the Wessex Premier Division this season.

As for next weekend… possibly another double header or maybe even a triple? 🤔 let’s wait and see! But with baby changing facilities, clean nappies on this occasion ✅
