A fascinated onlooker at Full-Time as the Havant & Waterlooville staff emptied their ice bath 👀

After some long journeys recently, we stayed a lot closer to home this weekend and Miss paid her first visit to Westleigh Park, home of Havant & Waterlooville FC. The Hawks beat Tiverton Town 4-2, a match that was heavily impacted by Storm Amy.
We arrived an hour before kick-off and had no issues parking. We went in through the turnstiles in the corner of the ground and went for a walk. Westleigh Park is a tidy ground, having previously been a National League South ground, with three stands terracing and one seated stand on the side. There have been some notable recent improvements, with the implementation of the 3G pitch plus a club shop/office block in the corner of the ground and a scoreboard.

Whilst there were no obvious baby changing facilities, the neighbouring pub, The Westleigh could oblige (thanks to Gary Pratt at Havant & Waterlooville for organising this for us!)
There were several burger bar facilities open in the ground, Miss enjoyed some green crisps and a Kit Kat plus a cup of tea 🫖
The game itself was entertaining, the atmosphere was slightly quiet, however. The last time I went to Westleigh Park, the home crowd were vociferous but that wasn’t so evident this time around. The said, Havant won 4-2 and looked dangerous going forward, although Tiverton scored the goal of the game ⚽️
The travelling dozen or so Tiverton fans clapped their team off at full-time and gave all the players high-fives 🙌 they host Poole Town on Tuesday night up next.
Miss was entertained with the steps on the terracing and corners to play hide and seek too.

Another good day out (despite a disastrous shopping trip on the way home!). Six goals, ample parking, space to roam, baby changing facilities ✅ well done Havant & Waterlooville 👏 good luck In the next round of the FA Trophy to the Hawks 🤞
