So it was Matchday #90 for Miss today. It’s been all quiet on the #cleansheetdirtynappies front - we have been footballing but with trips to Winchester City FC and our beloved AFC Bournemouth 🍒 - as you all know they are regular haunts.

So today was a first trip to the Abbey for Miss, home of Hamble Club in the Wessex Premier Division, occupying second spot at the start of the day. The Monks were facing Hamworthy Receation, where Daddy made his Cherries debut all those years ago. Hamworthy Rec are coached by Ryan Andress, a former work colleague and good friend of Daddy’s, so it was good to catch up with the Briman himself!

Elsewhere, Fabio Manuel, a former Winchester City youngster is playing for Ham Rec whilst ‘Franno’, Jack Francis, another former Citizen, was playing for the hosts.

There is lots of parking at The Abbey, not perfect for a pushchair due to the gravel and potholes, BUT, no problem for us these days as the pushchair gets left at home - and the massive puddles in the car park were a big win for Miss!

Entry was £7 and we got a cuppa to share too ☕️ - good value, certainly for the entertainment on offer. The steward in the car park was friendly and the lady on the gate was lovely. Really friendly people at Hamble Club.

Miss watched the other children playing football was fascinated with what was on offer on the main pitch too!

Some amazing finishing in the first-half and late drama meant for an exciting game, Hamworthy Rec bagging two late goals to win the match 3-2.

There is a nice clubhouse there too and even better… baby changing facilities 🎉🥳🧷

All in all, a great day out, five goals, catching up with some friendly faces and a decent cuppa.

Friendly people, good football, ample parking and baby changing facilities - we’ll be back 👍
