Winchester City have returned to the Charters Community Stadium after several months away whilst the new 3G pitch has been laid, and Miss and I were there to see the homecoming, Weymouth were the visitors in the Emirates FA Cup.

We arrived just after 130pm and the car park was already rammed.

The car park has been re-laid with gravel, sadly a massive pain with a pushchair, but we got through it. Scott opened the gate for us and we made our way round saying our hello’s to everybody! Miss roamed around and enjoyed the new surroundings. She walked up the steps in the new burger bar to say hello to Margaret, Sally (thanks for the Twirl!) and Gemma. Miss then tried to steal Nikki’s pen whilst she was writing out the teams for Wayne, ready to be announced.

Miss has made herself at home at City now and says hello to everyone and is clearly comfortable in her surroundings.

We watched the game from our ‘usual’ spot by the home bench, so Miss gave out fist pumps to Gaffer, Coler, Pete and of course, Uncle Mike, before the game. She entertained herself throughout the game by playing football with Andrew & Luke and sitting on Daddy’s bag eating Pringles!

Delighted that the club have invested in Baby Changing Facilities. I am always honest and make it known where clubs don’t have these facilities - so well done City for getting these in place; we appreciate it!

The ground is looking great, the playing surface is immaculate and the facilities are those to be proud of. Superb crowd of 640 watched on as City held Weymouth to a 2-2 draw (probably should have won the game to be honest!) but a trip to Dorset on Tuesday night awaits.

Miss had a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon and it is great to see the newly-improved facilities at the club. Well done Winchester!
