So it’s been a long time since this happened but this weekend, Miss and I saw a double Winchester victory.

On Saturday we were back at The Charters Community Stadium to see Winchester City beat Hartpury 2-1; their first league game of 2025-26.

Then on Sunday we went up to Foxcotte Park to see Winchester City Flyers Ladies beat Andover New Street 1-0.

It was a hot weekend so on Saturday, Miss enjoyed the experience of the newly-refurbished clubhouse at the Charters Community Stadium. It isn’t quite finished, but the improvements are excellent. Let’s wait and see if the baby changing facilities are added to the accessible toilet like they were before the renovations 👀

The club used their VEO camera facilities to live stream the game into the bar which is a good addition! And the new chairs are also nice and comfy.

New turnstiles are now in operation and an outdoor bar has been added although it wasn’t open on Saturday.

It was nice to see some familiar faces too! Rob got a double high-five and fist pump when City scored their second goal 🙌

On Sunday, another hot day, we journeyed up the A34 to Andover.

We stopped off at Dobbie’s Garden Centre for lunch, somehow I was persuaded to get Miss yet another water bottle 🤦‍♂️

Foxcotte Park has undergone some notable improvements since my last visit, with new fencing and a lovely new stand - and as for Miss, it was her first visit.

Because of the heat, we watched the game from the shade whilst playing football ourselves, but Flyers earned a hard-fought 1-0 win.

Next Saturday Daddy is working… so hopefully we can squeeze in a Tuesday night game and maybe next Sunday too (sorry Mummy 😘)
