A trip to a much-changed Sholing

So as we enter the festive season, Winchester City came away from Sholing with 🎄 points (jumping on that bandwagon!) after an IK Hill penalty won them the game.

For Miss this was a second visit to Sholing. When we visited last time, the facilities were improving with the new bar area and spacious disabled toilet but, much to our delight, that spacious disabled toilet now also has baby changing facilities 🥳

There is ample parking at Sholing, slightly odd that if you park on the field it’s free, but if you park opposite on the gravel it’s £3 🤔

Easy access but no need to worry about pushchair access anymore, Miss has no interest in using her pushchair! Getting through turnstiles is still challenging, I lifted her over on this one and gave her to Uncle Mikey to get through.

There were two sets of turnstiles, but the second set were only opened at 245 when there was a massive queue… 🤦‍♂️

The facilities at Portsmouth Road are much better and there is talk of a 3G pitch coming as well. A new stand at the far end with terracing and seating which generated a decent atmosphere (although Sholing ‘Ultras’ were three or four schoolboys and a loud drum).

There were plenty of snacks at the ground - with decent cheesy chips and curry sauce for Daddy, and Miss had choc choc and a couple of ‘pops’ thanks to Sally 🍭

The red ball 🔴 was kicked around throughout but the pink ball also made an appearance today too!

High-fives all round at full time for Hannah, Ken and everyone else that Miss said hello to today. Thanks to Sally for the snacks as always and a great result for Uncle Davo and the team.

A good set-up at Sholing now, great facilities for a toddler, amongst the best, certainly at Step Three. A feel good factor at the club these days with Matt Le Tissier and Levi Colwill involved and with Paul Doswell as Manager, it’s a club on the up.

Where to next… 🤔
