A hat-trick of assists and a howling wind

Miss is impartial to a lie in, particularly on the weekend, and today (Sunday 21st) was no exception. A 9:45am wake-up meant a half-time arrival for this one - but still plenty to share!
Yateley United Vets v Ropley Vets at Yateley United FC.

An easy journey straight up the M3. Well-signposted and lots of parking in the overall park area but due to the volumes of cars, it was challenging and we had to park in the neighbouring cricket club.
There is a nice new clubhouse and turnstile on the side. There is a plastic-style matting laid down to improve access over the bumpy stones, perfect for a pushchair. A well-placed ramp just inside the ground meant it was ideal for a pushchair.
We didn’t go into the clubhouse so can’t comment on baby changing facilities, but based on the look of the facilities and the fact that it hosts birthday parties and children’s parties would suggest there are ample baby changing facilities (Yateley United FC - please correct me if I’m wrong!)
On to the game. When we arrived the hosts were 2-0 up at half-time and they added a third instantly after the restart. Uncle Davo was on great form, supplying all three of Ropley’s goals. A special note for the second goal, the City gaffer struck a free-kick goalwards which was tipped on to the crossbar, only for Ropley to score from the rebound. However, despite an inspirational display from the skipper, Yateley Vets ran out 4-3 winners.
Miss enjoyed roaming around the ample space and was kicking around her football which Uncle Mike gave her.

She even found a gap in the sponsor boards to watch the game.

All in all, another good game of football. Very pleasant, tidy facilities with two stands, a nice modern clubhouse by the looks of it, excellent pushchair access and plenty of goals.
When we come back to Yateley we will visit the clubhouse for today, a good first impression!
