Stockbridge in the sunshine

The football season is nearly finished, but there’s still opportunities for Miss and I to continue our Saturday adventures - this weekend it was Hampshire Premier League. Stockbridge v Paulsgrove.
We popped to the park with Uncle Mike on Saturday lunchtime, Eversley Park in Kings Worthy, where there was U16 football taking place. Can’t include that one sadly as we didn’t know it was taking place - almost a first double header for Miss though!
Then it was back home to watch the mighty Cherries 🍒 against Arsenal and some dubious refereeing decisions 🤔 felt like the curse of the top six again. Anyway, then it was a short trip up the road to the heart of the Test Valley.
We parked in the lay-by’s around the corner from the ground although there is also parking at the Recreation Ground.
We were greeted by some friendly locals and also saw Gemma and Nicki, fellow Winchester City followers.
The ground is in a picturesque setting, with fencing around three sides, floodlights and a small seated stand on the side with the dug-outs. Behind the goal closest to the entrance is a bar and also toilets with… baby changing facilities! Hats off to Stockbridge 👏

We arrived seconds after the Robins had taken the lead but after that Paulsgrove dominated the first-half and grabbed a deserved equaliser shortly before the break. Stockbridge grabbed two goals in the second period and won the match.
Miss enjoyed the park in the corner of the ground and walked up and down the touchline whilst contemplating invading the pitch on several occasions 🤦♂️

So that was game 49 of the season, targeting one more to hit the big 50…not bad for an 18-month old 🤷♂️⚽️🍼🧷
