A life-changing meeting

My wife, Lauren, and I met when she came into my place of work for a Job Interview…and the rest was history!

She knew I loved my football, but there was loving football, and there was travelling up to Hartlepool on a Tuesday night to watch a League Cup tie…

But she also wanted to see what the fuss was all about. So we started small, with Bournemouth against the Premier League Champions, Manchester City.

Needless to say after that, Winchester City was something of an anti-climax. But we were welcomed into the heart of the club by the incredible volunteers and supporters that make the club what it is.

Then came getting to know the players, staff and even management.

We all became a close circle of friends and kept each other entertained with weekly quizzes during those unique periods of lockdown.

Some of the staff and players even attended our wedding reception.

So needless to say when we discovered we were expecting, everyone at the football club, our ‘second family’ were over the moon.
